According to local journalist Herman Chanampa of Chilean media network DirecTV, Premier League side Manchester United are at the forefront of the race to sign veteran Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal this month.
It was disclosed that Manchester United are in pole position to sign the retired Chilean international after they outbid Inter Milan who were also keen to swoop in on him.
Arturo Vidal is in dispute with his club Barcelona over owed monies totaling around €2.4m but that has not stopped him from playing well for the Spanish club either as a substitute or a starter.

The Chilean player has not nailed down a starting XI spot under Ernesto Valverde since joining the Catalans at the start of last season on the back of his transfer from Bavarian giants Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga.
Vidal has been frustrated by his lack of starts at Barcelona despite the fact that he is the best goal threat for the team outside the attacking front trio of Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez.
He has scored six league goals for Barcelona this season.
Arturo Vidal scored his sixth goal of the current Spanish La Liga season as a second-half substitute at the weekend during the disappointing 2-2 draw in the Catalan Derby clash with hosts Espanyol.
