Premier League giants Chelsea are ready to break their transfer record in the January transfer window next year according to the newest reports coming out of the media in the United Kingdom.

It was revealed that the Blues want to splash a club-record deal on Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho who is also attracting the interest of other Premier League sides.

The specific report from the Daily Express said that Chelsea are prepared to spend as much as £120m on Jadon Sancho who has scored nine goals and nine assists in 15 league games in the German Bundesliga.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been handed a transfer warchest of £150m for new players in the January transfer window and the majority of that transfer fund is expected to be spent on Jadon Sancho who is seen as the like-for-like replacement for Eden Hazard.

The Belgian international departed Chelsea for Real Madrid in the summer for a fee of around £100m.

Chelsea were unable to sign a replacement for him immediately due to their transfer ban but they are now free to sign players after the ban imposed on them by world football’s governing body FIFA was partially lifted by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
