Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has urged the club’s hierarchy to sign players to boost their squad when the transfer market reopens in the New Year.

In an exclusive interview with the Manchester Evening News (MEN), Wes Brown pointed out that the Manchester United squad needs to be reinforced with quality players.

According to him, Manchester United need to sign two central defenders and two central midfielders to improve the squad at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have struggled in the last two seasons in the Premier League.

They finished in sixth place in the last campaign thereby qualifying for the Europa League instead of the Champions League.

Only the top four places are meant for Champions League qualification and Manchester United failed to finish in those places.

Manchester United have continued that struggle this season with the former Premier League champions struggling in midtable.

Ahead of the Spurs game on Wednesday night, the Red Devils are in tenth position on the table with 18 points from 14 games.

Manchester United legend Wes Brown also told reporters that the club needs to strengthen the team in attack to get back to the top of English and European football where they truly belong.

According to him, Manchester United need at least two quality players in each position.
