Champions League: Barcelona Confirm Starting Lineup vs Borussia Dortmund

Amuda Segun

Five-time European champions Barcelona have knockout stage qualification in their sights ahead of their game against German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in Group F of the Champions League this season.

A win over Borussia Dortmund will definitely secure a place in the last 16 of the competition.

Barcelona have not hit the heights expected of them this season and that has led to the pressure on manager Ernesto Valverde who has a little over six months on his contract at the Nou Camp.

Ernesto Valverde has won the last two league titles for Barcelona but the club’s fans are unhappy over his performance in the Champions League with the club desperate to end their drought in the competition.

The Spanish champions have gone four years without winning the Champions League title, while fierce rivals Real Madrid have won it three times within that period.

Ernesto Valverde lost the trust of several Barcelona fans after masterminding the collapse against AS Roma and Liverpool in both the penultimate season and last season in the Champions League.

Barcelona XI: Marc Andre Ter Stegen; Nelson Semedo, Gerard Pique, Christian Lenglet, Jordi Alba; Frenkie De Jong, Sergio Busquets, Arthur Melo; Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.
