Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic was unable to rewrite Premier League history during the league game with English champions Manchester City on Saturday evening.

The American international went into the game on the back of five goals in his last three games in the Premier League and another goal against Manchester City would have seen him make history as the first United States player to score in four successive league games in the Premier League era.

Christian Pulisic was unable to write his name in the history books as he failed to score during the Manchester City game which ended in a 2-1 defeat for his team.

He played the entire duration of the game as Premier League champions Manchester City came from a goal down to secure victory against the Blues thereby ending their winning streak.

Chelsea had won six games in a row in the Premier League before the Manchester City game.

They had beaten clubs like Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Southampton, Watford, Crystal Palace, and Burnley during that run.

Chelsea started the weekend in third position with 26 points only for them to drop one place to fourth spot as a result of the defeat to Manchester City.
