Premier League outfit Newcastle United are eyeing a loan swoop for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka during the January transfer window.
According to The Times, the Magpies want to launch an ambitious loan bid for Swiss international Granit Xhaka.
The Arsenal midfielder was recently stripped off his role as skipper after his faceoff with the fans during the London Derby clash with Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
The £35m signing from German Bundesliga side Borussia Moenchengladbach walked off the pitch to a chorus of boos from Arsenal fans following his reaction to being substituted on the hour mark for young winger Bukayo Saka while the Gunners were searching for the winning goal with the scoreline at 2-2.

The Premier League clash ended in a 2-2 draw.
Granit Xhaka issued an apology for his actions four days later and has been left out of the Arsenal squad for the last four games.
The Swiss international vice-captain has missed the games against Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Vitoria Guimares and Leicester City.
Widespread reports claimed that the Swiss midfielder is considering a move away from the club and a loan transfer to Newcastle United could be the route out of Arsenal for the former FC Basel star.
