Though United have obviously improved their performance in recent weeks, Solskjaer still needs to add some players to his team in the next transfer window.

The Red Devils still lack creativity at the middle of the park which is one of and reasons why the team have scored few goals so far.

Juan Mata appears to have past his prime, while Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard — who have both featured in that position — are currently out of form.

This problem is well known to Solskjaer and his employers who gave reportedly set their sights on Leicester City midfielder James Maddison and Tottenham’s want-away star Christian Eriksen ahead of the transfer window.

The two players are good in their own right, but the Leicester City’s man should be United’s top priority because of his youthfulness and his ability to rise up to the occasions on a regular basis.

Solskjaer is building a young team, who will be title contenders for many years to come and this is one of the reasons why the Englishman should be added to the Old Trafford outfits sooner than later.

Unlike Eriksen who is in his late 20s, Maddison is just 22 years old which means he still has at decade years of football to play.
