Manchester United legend Edwin Van Der Sar has said that he would like to return to the club in the future.

The ex-Dutch international said this in a chat with Sports Illustrated’s Planet Futbol.

According to him, two clubs namely Ajax Amsterdam and Manchester United are very dear to his heart.

Edwin Van Der Sar is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam having assumed the role since 2016.

He was a former goalkeeper with Ajax Amsterdam whom the Dutchman won the 1995 Champions League title with having come through the ranks at the club.

Van Der Sar also has a strong affiliation with Premier League giants Manchester United whom he spent the last six years of his football career with before calling it quits.

He returned to Ajax Amsterdam as their marketing director in 2012 before being promoted to the CEO role four years later.

Since becoming the Ajax CEO, Van Der Sar has been able to transform the fortunes of the club.

Ajax Amsterdam have won the Dutch Eredivisie and the Dutch Cup in addition to reaching the 2016 Europa League final and the semifinals of last season’s Champions League campaign.

The technical director role at Manchester United is open and Edwin Van Der Sar has been touted as a possible candidate.
