Manchester United fans have named the player that the team missed the most amongst the injured players.

They had their say via a poll conducted via the Manchester Evening News (MEN) portal.

The Manchester United fans missed French international attacker Anthony Martial the most as per the said poll which saw over 3,000 votes.

Anthony Martial had 47% of the votes to finish ahead of compatriot Paul Pogba who had 35% of the total votes.

Summer signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka came in at third position with 16% of the votes, while Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw was the last on the poll with 2%.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had to battle with several injuries to key players in his squad this season.

As many as six first team players missed the last league game which ended in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of struggling Newcastle United.

Debutant Matty Longstaff scored the only goal of the game in the second half to hand his side the three points at stake.

The likes of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard and Victor Lindelof all missed the defeat to Newcastle United.

The Newcastle United result left Manchester United in the bottom half of the table.
