Liverpool legend Michael Owen has had his say on the upcoming Champions League games involving the English teams.

The former Liverpool striker made his predictions for the Matchday 2 games on Wednesday night while he was on Sky Sports.

Reigning champions Liverpool host free-scoring Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg at Anfield, while another English team Chelsea are away at French Ligue 1 side Lille.

Michael Owen predicted the outcome of the two Champions League games.

According to him, Premier League leaders Liverpool will have too much firepower for Red Bull to handle.

Michael Owen is certain that Liverpool will get their first win of the season in the Champions League when they take on Austrian opposition Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday night.

Liverpool began the defence of their Champions League title on a losing note after they were beaten by Italian Serie A giants Napoli.

Dries Mertens (penalty) and substitute Fernando Llorente scored in the second half to hand Napoli a 2-0 win at home to Liverpool on Matchday 1.

For the Lille vs Chelsea game, Michael Owen said that a draw is the most likely outcome.

Just like Liverpool, Chelsea started the Champions League with a defeat this season.

Rodrigo scored the only goal of the game as the Blues were beaten 1-0 at home by Valencia.
