Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has revealed that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane blocked two players from joining the club before the transfer window ended earlier this month.
Guillem Balague talked about Real Madrid and transfers while he was on BBC on Wednesday night.
According to him, Zidane blocked the signing of both Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen and Ajax Amsterdam star Donny Van Der Beek.
Real Madrid wanted a new midfielder before the European transfer window and club manager Zidane only wanted Manchester United star Paul Pogba according to Guillem Balague.
He further said that Zinedine Zidane was not willing to compromise on his choice of Paul Pogba despite the fact that Manchester United were not willing to let their star player leave the club.
Paul Pogba is in his second spell at Manchester United having returned to the Theatre of Dreams from Italian Serie A champions Juventus in 2016.
He has two years left on his Manchester United contract at the moment though the club has the option of another year making it three years.
Recent reports claimed that Manchester United have concluded plans to offer Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard new contracts to secure their long-term future at the club.
