What Jose Mourinho Said About Messi, Ronaldo Rivalry

Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has had his say on the rivalry between Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and Juventus attacker Cristiano Ronaldo.

On his own show ‘On The Touchline’ via RT, Jose Mourinho talked about the two players despite the fact that he has only managed one of them.

Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo worked together at Real Madrid for three years before the former left to return to Chelsea for the second time.

Mourinho and Ronaldo were two of the major actors for Real Madrid as the Los Merengues won the 2011/22 Spanish La Liga title at the expense of arch-rivals Barcelona.

On the rivalry, Jose Mourinho decided to praise the two players as he said that this generation is lucky to witness both Ronaldo and Messi play at the same time.

The debate on who is the better player has been in existence for the better part of the last two decades.

The two players have won the Ballon d’Or award on five occasions each and they are expected to be in the running for this year’s edition though they might have to contend with Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk who beat both players to the Champions League Player of the Year Award last month.
