Chelsea manager Frank Lampard suffered a big injury setback to one of his most consistent players on Sunday night and he might need to look for a solution to solve the problem it has created as a result.

Blues left-back Emerson Palmieri limped off during the Euro 2020 qualifying clash between his Italy team and Finland.

He played just seven minutes of the game before hobbling off to further add to the injury problems in the Chelsea team.

Key Chelsea players like Antonio Rudiger, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and N’Golo Kante have all struggled for fitness this season.

Only Kante has featured for Chelsea this season amongst the aforementioned players.

Chelsea is yet to determine the extent of the injury suffered by Emerson Palmieri but Frank Lampard might need to look for alternatives for him with the Blues facing a busy schedule in the next month.

Emerson Palmieri is the first choice left-back under Lampard at the moment.

Lampard can call on three possible major replacements for Chelsea in place of the injured Emerson Palmieri.

Spanish defender Marcos Alonso is the second choice left-back at Chelsea and the former Real Madrid player is the obvious substitute for Emerson Palmieri.

Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta are other options for Frank Lampard.
