Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid have been dealt a major injury blow ahead of their game with Villarreal at the weekend.

Real Madrid will be without playmaker Isco for the Villarreal game after he suffered a muscular injury.

His injury status was revealed via an official statement from Real Madrid earlier on Wednesday.

The latest news is a big blow to Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane who’s already missing the services of players like Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio and many more.

Isco will miss the Villarreal game at the El Madrigal as Real Madrid try to bounce back from the disappointing league result from last weekend.

Real Madrid dropped points for the first time this season in the Spanish La Liga after they were forced to a 1-1 draw by lowly Real Valladolid.

The Los Meringues were forced to a draw at home as they ended the weekend with four points from two games and in third position.

Real Madrid had started the season on a winning note with the victory over Celta Vigo.

Celta Vigo were beaten 3-1 at home by Real Madrid on the opening weekend of the new Spanish La Liga season.

Real Madrid are bidding for a first league title in three years this season.
