Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic is reportedly set for showdown talks with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after he lost his place in three starting XI.

This is according to the publication from UK Sun which revealed that the Serbian international will have a chat with Solskjaer over his lack of playing time.

Nemanja Matic has not started a game for Manchester United since the end of last season.

The Serbian international started a game for Manchester United for the last time during the 1-1 draw at the home of Huddersfield Town last season.

Experienced midfielders like Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera have left Manchester United in the past months as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer turns his attention to young players.

Scott McTominay has been preferred to Nemanja Matic at Manchester United this season.

As a matter of fact, Nemanja Matic has not played a minute of football since the start of this season.

Manchester United have already played three games this season with all of them coming in the Premier League.

The Red Devils started the new Premier League season with the 4-0 thrashing of Chelsea at home before hosts Wolves forced Manchester United to a 1-1 draw.

Manchester United then went on to lose 2-1 to Crystal Palace in the third game.
