Arsenal legend Ian Wright has blasted manager Unai Emery over his decision to play a diamond formation for the Liverpool game at the weekend.
Ian Wright discussed the Arsenal formation on Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5 Live as he said that the decision took him by surprise.
The ex-Arsenal striker also said that the diamond formation took Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp by surprise.
The formation handed Liverpool the initiative as the Arsenal midfield was narrow thus allowing the likes of Reds fullbacks Andy Robertson and Trent Alexandre-Arnold were afforded space and time to send crosses into the Arsenal boss.

The formation didn’t work for Unai Emery and Arsenal in the end after they were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool.
The Gunners had the chance to take the lead through Nicolas Pepe on several occasions as his pace was a constant thorn in the Liverpool flesh but the Ivorian international didn’t take the few chances that came his way.
Liverpool took the lead four minutes from the halftime interval through a bullet header from Joel Matip.
Mohamed Salah scored then added two goals for Liverpool in the first half of the second half before substitute Lucas Torreira pulled one back for the Gunners but it proved to be mere consolation for the visitors.
