Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has opened up on the competition with fellow attacker Marcus Rashford.

Anthony Martial spoke about his competition with Rashford in an interview with popular English news channel Sky Sports.

According to him, the training ground competition between them has given Manchester United an extra edge at the start of this season.

The exit of Romelu Lukaku this summer has left Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial as the first two strikers at Manchester United.

Belgian international Lukaku left Manchester United after two years which saw him score 42 goals in all competitions in the red and white jersey of the club.

The 26-year-old scored more goals than any other player at Manchester United during that period.

Lukaku signed for Inter Milan earlier this month in a deal worth £73.9m including £9.2m in add-ons.

The number nine jersey vacated by Lukaku has been taken by French international Martial who has shown good form at the start of the season with two goals in the first two league games.

He has the same number of goals as Marcus Rashford.

Anthony Martial scored in the first league game of the season, a 4-0 win over Chelsea before adding a second goal during the 1-1 draw at Wolves on Monday night.
