Kante and Chelsea won the Europa League title at the end of May on the back of the 4-1 win over London rivals Arsenal, while Liverpool emerged as the Champions League holders at the start of June.
Olivier Giroud gave Chelsea the lead in the first half before Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane equalized for his team at the start of the second half.
The two teams played out a one-all draw at the end of regulation time.
Mane hit his second goal of the game to edge Liverpool 2-1 ahead before Jorginho forced penalties by getting the equalizer for Chelsea from the penalty spot.
