Ike Shorunmu Reacts To Alex Iwobi’s Shock Transfer To Everton

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu has had his say on the surprising exit of Alex Iwobi from North London giants Arsenal.
Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi left Arsenal to join Everton on deadline day of this summer’s Premier League transfer window.
On the surprise move, Ike Shorunmu told Soccernet that the Everton transfer is the right move for the 23-year-old.
According to him, Alex Iwobi would have spent a lot of time on the bench if he had stayed on for the new season.
Alex Iwobi was pushed further down the pecking order at Arsenal after the club-record signing of Nicolas Pepe.

The Senegalese international was the subject of interest from a lot of the big clubs before the Gunners swooped in on him.
Iwobi has left the club following Pepe’s arrival from Lille.
Everton paid £40m to sign Alex Iwobi from Arsenal in the late hour of deadline day.
He has been handed the number 17 jersey at Goodison Park.
Alex Iwobi came through the Arsenal Academy before making his debut for the club in October 2015.
