Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson lost patience in the club’s pursuit of Harry Maguire as he is a long-term admirer of the Leicester City defender.
According to the Manchester Evening News (MEN), the legendary Manchester United manager has always pushed for a deal to sign Harry Maguire.
Manchester United spent the majority of the summer’s transfer window negotiating for a deal for Harry Maguire before they finally made a breakthrough on Friday.
The Red Devils have agreed on a world-record fee of £80m for Harry Maguire thus making him the most expensive defender potentially in the history of world football.

Leicester City had earlier turned down the opening offer of £70m for the 26-year-old defender.
The transfer fee for Harry Maguire surpasses the £75m fee paid by Liverpool for star player Virgil Van Dijk from fellow Premier League Southampton.
Van Dijk left Southampton for Liverpool during the 2018 transfer window and he has not looked back with his performances for the Reds since the transfer.
Manchester United fans would be hoping for a similar impact when Harry Maguire signs for the club.
