Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has backed the return of prodigal son to the Premier League.

Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho left Liverpool for the Nou Camp in a controversial manner and he has been linked with a move back to the Reds this summer after an underwhelming spell with the Catalans.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher talked about Philippe Coutinho in his latest interview as monitored by Goal.

According to him, he won’t pass up the chance to re-sign Coutinho this summer before adding that the Brazilian international star is a better creative option than the ones at the club at the moment.

Jamie Carragher has urged the club to make a move for Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian international signed for Barcelona during the winter transfer window in 2018.

The £142m transfer made him the third most expensive player in world football behind the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Philippe Coutinho is presently on holiday after his exertions with the Brazilian national team this summer.

The 27-year-old was one of the best players at the ongoing COPA America tournament in Brazil.

Coutinho and Brazil won the tournament on home soil after they defeated Peru 3-1 in their final clash.
