He became a Liverpool player in the summer of 2015 when he joined the club on a free transfer from Premier League champions Manchester City.
The 33-year-old has contributed immensely to the recent successes recorded by Liverpool in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
He scored seven goals and also added seven assists in 45 games for Liverpool in all competitions last season as the Reds emerged as the Champions League winners via a 2-0 win over fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
In total, James Milner has scored 22 goals and also provided 36 assists in 177 games for Liverpool in all competitions over a four-year period.
