Young Liverpool striker Paul Glatzer will miss out on the rest of preseason after he sustained a serious injury during the first Liverpool game of this summer.

Liverpool played their first preseason match against English League Two outfit Tranmere Rovers on Thursday evening.

Paul Glatzer sustained the injury towards the end of the game and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed afterward that the young striker will spend a lot of time on the sidelines.

The 18-year-old was making his debut for the Liverpool first team only for it to end in disappointment.

He scored 30 goals for the Liverpool u18s last season and the striker was expected to kick on in the new season either at Liverpool or on loan.

Paul Glatzer has already been linked with a move away from Liverpool on loan this summer.

His injury was the only blemish recorded as Liverpool trounced Tranmere Rovers 6-0 courtesy goals from Rhian Brewster (2 goals), Curtis Jones, Nathaniel Clyne, Bobby Duncan and Champions League hero Divock Origi.

Liverpool will face Bradford City in their second game of the preseason before they embark on their US tour next week.

The Reds will face the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Sporting Lisbon during their US tour.
