Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed what new manager Frank Lampard demands from the players ahead of the new season.

The Blues right-back was asked about new manager Frank Lampard and the preparation for the new season during his latest interview as monitored by Metro.

According to him, Frank Lampard has asked the Chelsea players to play with high intensity which is a far cry from the methodical possession-based style under Italian tactician Maurizio Sarri Las season.

Sarri led Chelsea to third place on the Premier League table at the end of last season and also masterminded their Europa League title triumph but it must be pointed out that the former Napoli and Empoli boss was heavily criticised throughout the season for the style of play adopted by him.

Maurizio Sarri lasted for just one season at Chelsea before he was replaced by Frank Lampard in the wake of his exit to Juventus.

The Italian tactician signed a three-year deal to become the new Juventus manager.

Frank Lampard was also handed the same length of contract at Chelsea after the Blues paid £4m in compensation to secure his signature.

The 41-year-old tactician has returned to Stamford Bridge in a managerial career after a hugely successful playing career at the club.
