Newly promoted Premier League side Sheffield United want to sign Paddy McNair from English Championship club Middlesbrough during this summer’s transfer window.
As per the publication from the stables of Scottish media outlet Football Scotland, Paddy McNair could sign for the Blades this summer if they are able to convince Middlesbrough to part with one of their players.
The Blades will face opposition from Scottish giants Celtic for the player with reports claiming that the Champions League campaigners are planning a £5m for the former Manchester United star.
Sheffield United secured promotion to the Premier League for the new season billed for the second week of August after they finished second at the end of the latest English Championship season.

The Blades finished the season in second place behind champions Norwich City thus taking one of the two automatic spots for the English top flight next season.
Both Norwich City and Sheffield United would be joined in the Premier League next season by Aston Villa who qualified through the playoffs.
Paddy McNair came through the Manchester United Academy before making his debut for the first team.
He joined Sunderland from Manchester United and he went on to score seven goals in 28 appearances for the Black Cats.
Paddy McNair signed for Middlesbrough last summer from Sunderland.
