French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are considering a swap deal for Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

According to the publication from The Times, PSG officials are ruminating over the idea of exchanging Neymar for compatriot Philippe Coutinho.

Former Liverpool player Coutinho has struggled a great deal since he signed for Spanish champions Barcelona in a £142m deal at the start of last year and he could leave the club this summer.

While Philippe Coutinho is plotting to leave Barcelona, the Catalan giants are eyeing a return for PSG attacker Neymar after two years though the French giants are reluctant to let him leave Parc des Princes this summer.

Neymar left Barcelona for PSG in the summer of 2017 after the French capital club activated the €222m release clause in his then contract with the Spanish champions.

The 27-year-old spent a largely successful four-year spell at Barcelona where he formed a potent attacking trident with both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

The three attackers played their part as Barcelona won the 2015 Champions League title under the guidance of former player and manager Luis Enrique.

Both Neymar and Luis Suarez were on target as Barcelona defeated Juventus to win their fifth European title via a 3-1 win over the Italians.
