Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly demanded for Marco Asensio in exchange for in-demand Christian Eriksen.

This is according the publication from the stables of The Sun which claimed that Real Madrid have had their first proposal rejected for Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen.

It was revealed that the former European champions offered a swap deal of £45m plus Dani Ceballos for Christian Eriksen.

Real Madrid have made Christian Eriksen one of their transfer targets this summer in their quest to sign a new midfielder.

The Los Merengues were foiled in their attempt to sign the Danish international player with the swap deal that was rejected by Spurs.

Instead, Spurs have asked for a swap deal involving Marco Asensio but it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane will let the young Spanish forward leave the club this summer.

Marco Asensio is not on the transfer list at Real Madrid.

He has always been an important squad member at Real Madrid since joining the club from fellow Spanish club Real Mallorca in 2015.

Marco Asensio has made 44 appearances for Real Madrid since his move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

The 22-year-old also has 22 caps for the Spanish national team.
