Seven-time European champions AC Milan have opened talks with fellow Italian Serie A club Fiorentina over the signing of one of their players according to the latest reports emanating from the Italian media.

Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout has been attracting the interest of several European clubs this summer including Premier League giants Arsenal.

Apart from Arsenal and AC Milan, the Italian Serie A duo of Napoli and AS Roma are also interested in the French midfielder.

According to the specific report from popular Italian transfer news portal Calciomercato, AC Milan are the first club to show serious interest in Jordan Veretout after the Rossoneri opened talks with a view to signing him this summer.

Fiorentina have already slapped a £22m asking price on him.

Former Aston Villa player Veretout has scored 15 goals in 75 appearances for Fiorentina since he joined the Italian Serie A outfit.

Arsenal are looking for a midfield replacement for Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey and the aforementioned Veretout is one of several midfielders linked with a move to North London.

Welsh international star Ramsey has ended his decade-long association with the Gunners whom he signed for in 2008.

Aaron Ramsey joined Arsenal from Welsh club Cardiff City after the Gunners beat Manchester United to his signature.
