Three-time European champions Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a summer bid for Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Red Devils have concluded to plans to make a £25m bid for the Newcastle United star with the knowledge that the player is willing to join Manchester United.

Sean Longstaff emerged as a top transfer target for Manchester United this summer on the back of a very good season for the Magpies.

The 21-year-old is presently recovering from a season-ending knee injury but he had already sent heart racing with his impressive performances for Newcastle United.

Sean Longstaff played nine Premier League games for the Magpies before the aforementioned knee injury.

The Newcastle United midfielder broke into the first team at the club on the back of separate loan spells at English League One club Blackpool and Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock.

Apart from Sean Longstaff, Manchester United have other midfield targets like Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, West Ham United star Declan Rice and Lyon midfield enforcer Tanguy Ndombele.

Manchester United are looking to bring in more players on the back of their first summer signing.

Welsh international star Daniel James became the Red Devils’ first signing of the summer earlier this month following his £18m move from Championship outfit Swansea City.
