Everton Join Arsenal In Race To Sign 27-Year-Old Defender

Merseyside giants Everton have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Getafe defender Djene Dakonam according to the latest reports from the media in the United Kingdom.
The Toffees want to sign a new central defender in this transfer window and they have identified Dakonam as the man for the job but they will have to contend with the Gunners.
The Everton interest in Djene Dakonam was revealed by the publication from The Guardian.

Long-serving Everton skipper Phil Jagielka will leave Goodison Park and the Toffees are in the market for a replacement for the ex-England international player.
Djene Dakonam could be the man to replace Phil Jagielka at Goodison Park this summer after his stellar season with Getafe.
The 27-year-old was in superb form for Getafe who narrowly missed out on Champions League football to Valencia.
Getafe finished in the fifth position meaning that they will feature in the Europa League next season.
Togolese international centre back Dakonam had earlier been linked with a move to Arsenal even before the end of the season.
Djene Dakonam was linked with the Gunners during the winter transfer window with reports claiming that Arsenal manager Unai Emery is a big fan of the centre back.
