North London giants Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly locked in talks over a move for highly rated Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.
This is according to the specific report from the Daily Star which claimed that Spurs are in talks with Real Betis over a potential summer transfer for Argentine international Lo Celso.
The 23-year-old has been attracting the interest of several major clubs on the European stage following a stellar season with Europa League campaigners Real Betis.
Apart from Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and three-time European champions Manchester United are also interested in the £88m-rated player.
Spurs need a new midfielder this summer following the exit of Moussa Dembele to China in January.
The North Londoners have not been able to replace the Belgian international star since he left the club earlier this year.
Giovanni Lo Celso scored nine goals and also weighed in with four assists in 32 games in the Spanish La Liga this season and also scored five goals in seven Europa League games during the just concluded campaign.
In total, the Argentine midfielder netted 16 goals and also provided four assists in 45 games in all competitions for Real Betis.
He could be the direct replacement for Ander Herrera at Manchester United after the Spaniard left the Red Devils this summer upon the expiration of his contract at the Theatre of Dreams.
