North London giants Arsenal will have to contend with the threat of fellow Premier League club Leicester City in their quest to sign highly-rated Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr.
This is according to the publication from the Daily Mail which claimed that former Premier League champions Leicester City are also on the trail of the aforementioned Sarr just like what’s obtainable with the Gunners.
Leicester City produced one of the most surprising feats in the history of English football after they won the Premier League title during the 2015/16 season at the expense of more illustrious clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Ismaila Sarr has light up the French Ligue 1 this season and several clubs are said to be keen on a summer swoop for the player who’s rated at £25m by his club.
He has scored 11 goals and also provided ten assists in all competitions for Rennes this term.
Ismaila Sarr has two years left on his Rennes contract which will run out until the end of the 2020/21 season.
He impressed a great deal in his audition against Arsenal in the Europa League earlier this season.
Ismaila Sarr scored one of the goals in a 3-1 win over Arsenal before the Gunners turned around the first leg lead in the round of 16 of the competition via a 3-0 second leg win at home.
