Premier League club Newcastle United have rubbished the transfer reports linking one of their players with a move to Manchester United this summer.
The Premier League transfer window officially opened on Thursday and Manchester United have been linked with a move for young Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.
The interest of Manchester United was revealed by Sky Sports earlier on Thursday morning.
According to Chronicle Live, Newcastle United have distanced themselves from those reports and that the aforementioned Longstaff will stay at the club beyond this summer.
Apart from Manchester United, Sean Longstaff has also been linked with other major Premier League sides like Manchester City and Liverpool.
Sean Longstaff came into prominence earlier this season and he impressed a great deal in the Newcastle United midfield before a serious knee injury ended his season abruptly.
Sean Longstaff came through the Newcastle United Academy before he was sent out on loan to Scottish club Kilmarnock for the second half of the 2016/17 season before being loaned out to English League One side Blackpool last season.
The Magpies midfielder scored eight goals in 42 league appearances during his stay at Blackpool last season.
Sean Longstaff scored once in nine Premier League games for Newcastle United before his season-ending injury.
