Premier League champions Manchester City have entered the multi-million-pound race to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann during this summer’s transfer window.
The Premier League transfer window officially opened on Thursday and it will run until a day before the start of the 2019/20 season.
The interest of Manchester City in the aforementioned Griezmann was revealed by the Manchester Evening News (MEN).
It was revealed that Manchester City is willing to pay the £108m release clause in his contract at Atletico Madrid.
Antoine Griezmann has already confirmed that Saturday’s league game with Levante would be his last match for the Rojiblancos after a five-year spell at the club whom he joined from fellow Spanish La Liga outfit Real Sociedad.
Spanish champions Barcelona have been strongly linked with the player with reports claiming that the Nou Camp giants are closing in on a move for the French World Cup winner.
Antoine Griezmann has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United and the Red Devils still retain an interest in him but he could join United rivals Manchester City despite the fact that they have a pending case with UEFA.
