North London giants Arsenal have concluded plans to offer young midfielder Matteo Guendouzi a new contract thereby warding off the interest in his services from clubs like Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
This is according to the publication from popular English news portal The Sun which claimed that Matteo Guendouzi has impressed a great deal in his first season as an Arsenal player.
The young French player signed for the Gunners last summer from Lorient after Arsenal were said to have paid around £7m for his transfer.
The aforementioned report claimed that Arsenal want to double the player’s wages by offering him a £75,000 per week contract.
Guendouzi has played his part in the Arsenal squad that has reached the Europa League final.
The French junior international helped the Gunners to the final where they will face London rivals Chelsea in Baku, Azerbaijan on May 29.
Arsenal qualified for the Europa League final by beating Spanish La Liga club Valencia 7-3 on aggregate in their last four tie.
The Gunners have to win the Europa League to qualify for the Champions League next season after missing out on qualification via the league route.
Arsenal finished the Premier League season in fifth spot and outside the Champions League places.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all finished in first four places and they have qualified for next season’s Champions League as a result.
