Three-time European champions Manchester United have made Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly their number one transfer target ahead of the resumption of the transfer window this summer.
The new development was confirmed by the publication from the Daily Mirror which revealed that the Senegalese international is their top transfer target this summer.
Kalidou Koulibaly is a key player for Napoli and the Italian Serie A giants are not willing to let him leave the club this summer but Manchester United are ready to pay a world-record fee for him.
Senegalese defender Koulibaly is regarded as one of the best three centre backs on the world football stage alongside the likes of Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool) and Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid).
Dutch international Van Dijk is the most expensive centre back in the history of world football after the Reds splashed the whopping sum of £75m to secure his transfer from Southampton during last year’s winter transfer window.
European clubs like Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Chelsea and Barcelona have previously expressed their interest in Koulibaly.
According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants a quality defender like the aforementioned Koulibaly in addition to a new right-back, a new midfielder and a new forward.
