The summer transfer window is fast approaching as the season came to an end today with Man City being crowned as champions with a point ahead of the Merseyside outfit Liverpool.
However, work has begun for the Reds team ahead of the coming season as they have begun plans to have a better squad with more depth.
The Reds team have therefore identified Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt as a better fit for the club defence as they hope to do much more better than they did this season to be able to win the title.
Liverpool have been in the race for the signature of Matthijs de Light alongside Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona but they seem to be winning in the pursuit of the 19-year-old as it has been reported that the Catalans are already considering to pull out of the deal because they feel the Reds team have won the race.
Matthijs de Light is a young player with the Dutch senior national team who has also proven himself with Ajax.
Liverpool will like to have the partnership of Virgil Can Dijk with Matthijs de Ligt inthe coming season to be more solid for the title push.
