Fears have been expressed by football pundit Garth Crooks that English Premier League outfit Liverpool could lose their star defender Virgil Van Dijk if they fail to win the Champions League final against Tottenham.

After a superb performance against Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League, the Reds team booked a final fight against their English Premier League rivals Tottenham which is their only hope of a trophy this season.

The Jurgen Klopp team had to wait until the last day to confirm that they will not be lifting the English Premier League as the title has been handed to Man City for the second consecutive year.

However, Liverpool have got the Champions League as their only hope of winning the Champions League with the football pundit expressing fears that the former Southampton defender could be disappointed at the club and find his way out if they fail to win it.

According to him, Virgil Van Dijk has been impressive enough this season and has worked hard to deserve the title, adding that players of his caliber need to be with the best teams that win titles.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will hope to break the deadlock to win their first title in many years.
