Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has vowed to shut unfit players out of the Red Devils’ preseason tour ahead of the new season scheduled to kick off in August.
Solskjaer told reporters during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Cardiff City game that each player has his fitness programme during the holidays and that he does not expect anyone to return for preseason with fitness problems.
According to him, he wants a situation whereby everyone is raring to go for the new season instead of using the first ten days of preseason to build the fitness levels of his players.
The Norwegian tactician has already mapped out his plans for next season as he saddled with the responsibility of getting Manchester United back to the top.
The Manchester United players suffered a great deal this season especially on the fitness front and that ultimately affected their results on the pitch.
Solskjaer and Manchester United will have to manage the Europa League for next season after they failed to qualify for the Champions League.
The Red Devils will miss out on Champions League football for the first time in three years (since 2016) after they missed out on the top four places on the Premier League table.
