The English Premier League outfit Liverpool have succeeded in hurting and humiliating the Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona as they proceed to the Champions League despite the initial lead by the Catalans.

Barcelona had defeated Liverpool in the first leg by 3-0 at the Anfield but they still could not move ahead as they were thrashed by 4-0 at the Anfield to end their dream of a double this season, after winning the La Liga title.

However, a recent development reveals that Liverpool are set to hurt Barcelona the more as they are preparing to snap up one of the most important players in the team.

It is reported that Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is a big fan of Croatia international midfielder Ivan Rakitic and has regarded him as an untouchable in the team but Liverpool are ready to snap him up.

The Reds team have got a solid midfield so far this season but manager Jurgen Kopp expects a bigger challenge and he seeks to bring in the players that will help with the job.

Ivan Rakitic is a world class player who has proven to be one of the best midfielders in the past two seasons. His quality was also seen at the last FIFA 2018 World Cup where he helped his team reach the finals in Russia but we’re stopped by France.

It is claimed that manager Jurgen Kopp will boast of a solid team if he is able to land Ivan Rakitic in the coming summer transfer window.

But it is yet to be seen if Barcelona will be ready to part ways with the star player as he might not be replaced.
