Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit D.C. United have concluded plans to offer midfielder Luciano Acosta a new contract to ward off the interest of European clubs in his services.
According to popular media portal Goal, Luciano Acosta has been attracting the interest of major European sides like French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Premier League giants Manchester United.
It was revealed that D.C. United want to keep the 24-year-old at the club and that the Argentine midfielder has been offered a four-year deal worth $12m.
He will earn $3m per annum with the new contract.
Luciano Acosta has impressed a great deal at his MLS club since joining them in 2016.
The player initially joined on loan from Argentine club Boca Juniors in 2016 before his move was made permanent a year later.
He scored eight league goals in 32 appearances during his loan spell before netting 16 times in 68 league games till date as a player of D.C. United.
In total, he has scored 24 goals in 100 MLS appearances.
French club PSG were linked with a move for him during the winter transfer window but they ended up signing his compatriot Leandro Paredes from Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.
Acosta plays with Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney at D.C. United.
Manchester United are interested in a summer swoop for him.
