Confirmed: Arsenal Manager Demands World-Class Defensive Signing

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has told the club to get him a world-class defender when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

According to the report from popular English media outlet The Sun, the Gunners boss had demanded a new centre back signing from the Arsenal hierarchy ahead of next season.

The Gunners have had a poor defensive showing this season especially in the Premier League including three successive defeats which saw Arsenal concede three goals in each of those games.

Arsenal have recorded four losses from the last five games in the Premier League and that has really dented their quest for a Champions League spot via a top-four finish in the league.

Unai Emery and his players can still qualify for the Champions League next season through the Europa League.

Arsenal can still qualify for Europe’s premier club competition by winning the competition.

They face a two-legged semifinal tie with Spanish La Liga club Valencia over the next one week.

Arsenal will face the winner of the second semifinal tie between Eintracht Frankfurt and Chelsea in the final if they manage to scale through the Valencia test.

Irrespective of whatever happens this season, Unai Emery wants to strengthen his options in defense and players like Harry Maguire (Leicester City), Kurt Zouma (Everton), Djene Dakonam (Getafe) and Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham Hotspur) are all on his radar.
