Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly planning a move for Manchester United outcast Matteo Darmian ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
According to the publication from The Sun, Inter Milan are hoping to complete a transfer for Darmian in the summer for a fee or around £8m.
The Italian international fullback is expected to return to Italy in the summer having been declared surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
He has one year left on his current contract at the Theatre of Dreams and Inter Milan can get him for a cut-price deal as a result.
Matteo Darmian is a utility player that can play as a left-back or as a right-back.
The 29-year-old signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2015 from Italian Serie A side Torino but he has not been able to nail down a starting XI berth at the club.
Matteo Darmian has been on the fringe of the first team at Manchester United irrespective of the manager.
Under Louis Van Gaal (LVG), Jose Mourinho and now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Italian fullback has remained a bit-part player with the Red Devils.
Inter Milan are ready to offer him an escape route from his nightmarish experience with the Red Devils.
