Former Manchester United coach Rene Muelensteen believes that star player Paul Pogba will struggle to get into the Manchester City squad despite the fact that he was named in the recently released PFA Team of the Year.
Rene Muelensteen made this known in an interview with Training Ground Guru.
According to the Dutchman, Pogba has not shown enough quality in the Premier League to suggest that he will be a permanent fixture in the current Manchester City squad.
Manchester City have performed well according to the array of stars in their squad and they are on course for a domestic treble.
It’s not surprising that six of the Manchester City stars were named in the PFA Team of the Year.
Ederson, Aymeric Laporte, Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling all made the Team of the Year alongside Paul Pogba.
French World Cup winner Pogba has performed well in the Premier League in bits and pieces this season.
He has scored 13 goals and nine assists for Manchester United this season.
Paul Pogba didn’t have the best of starts this season especially when Jose Mourinho was in charge but he was able to produce his best form with the advent of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the replacement for the sacked Mourinho in December.
The Manchester United midfielder has struggled for form in the last month.
