Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that first-choice goalkeeper David De Gea will retain his jersey ahead of the upcoming Premier League clash with Chelsea.

Solskjaer vowed to retain De Gea for the starting spot at Manchester United in his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of the Chelsea game billed for Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

David De Gea has been the best player at Manchester United for the last four years but he has come under heavy criticism for the first time in a long while following his series of mistakes in the last one month.

The Spaniard was at fault for the goals conceded in recent games against North London giants Arsenal, Spanish champions Barcelona and Everton before the Manchester Derby on Wednesday night.

David De Gea was culpable for one of the two second half goals conceded by Manchester United in the 2-0 home loss to Manchester City in the Premier League.

Bernardo Silva and substitute Leroy Sane were the goalscorers for Manchester City who secured top spot on the Premier League table as a result of the win.

De Gea is expected to start in goal for Manchester United when they face Chelsea at home.

The Spaniard has one year left on his current deal at Manchester United and his contract situation at the club has been linked to his questionable form.
