Three-time European champions Manchester United will have to contend with the threat of city rivals Manchester City in their quest to sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
This is according to the publication from Italian transfer news portal Calciomercato.
It was revealed that the Premier League champions are plotting a big money move for Slovakian international Skriniar.
Manchester City will have to spend at least €100m (£86m) to secure the transfer of the centre back.
Milan Skriniar has been a key player for Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan since he joined the club at the start of last season.
Inter Milan paid £20m to sign him from fellow Italian Serie A side Sampdoria in the summer of 2017 and the Slovakian defender has grown to become an untouchable at the club.
Milan Skriniar is the first choice centre back at Inter Milan ahead of others like Miranda and Stefan de Vrij.
Manchester United have made the signing of a new centre back top priority ahead of this summer’s transfer window and Milan Skriniar is one of the targets on their list of players for the position.
It was revealed by the aforementioned publication that Spanish La Liga giants are also interested in a move for the aforementioned Skriniar.
