Manchester United defender Eric Bailly was amongst the goals as Ivory Coast rounded up their 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers with a win.

The centre back was on target as Ivory Coast thrashed Rwanda 3-0 at home having already qualified for the tournament proper in November 2018.

A lot of major European clubs are on Lille winger Nicholas Pepe trail after he scored three opening goals for the Ivorians.

The 23-year-old has been linked with clubs like Arsenal, German champions Bayern Munich, French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Manchester United.

He has scored 17 goals for Lille in the French Ligue 1 this term and that has propelled the former French champions to a Champions League spot on the table.

Pepe gave Ivory Coast the lead as early as the seventh minute before Manchester United player Bailly added a second goal midway into the second half of the Group H AFCON qualifier.

Lyon star Maxwell Cornet scored the third goal for the two-time African champions five minutes later to make it a more convincing win over bottom team Rwanda.

Ivory Coast finished their campaign in second place with 11 points behind leaders Guinea (11 points) who will play the Central African Republic in their final Group game on Sunday.
