One-time Champions League finalists Arsenal will have to fend off the interest of two Spanish clubs in the bid to sign highly-rated Bayern Leverkusen forward Julian Brandt.
The interest of the Spanish clubs was revealed by popular German newspaper Sport Bild.
It was revealed that the Spanish La Liga duo of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on the situation of Julian Brandt.
The German international has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal but the Gunners interest in the player appeared to have waned in recent months.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has been saddled with the responsibility of rebuilding the European champions following his reappointment last week and Julian Brandt could be an option for him.
Brandt has scored four goals and provided a whopping ten assists for Bayer Leverkusen in 25 Bundesliga appearances this term.
French football legend Zidane returned to Real Madrid as their manager earlier this month having resigned from the job last summer.
Real Madrid have already sacked two coaches for poor performance and Zidane’s appointment makes it the third for the Los Merengues.
Zidane began his second managerial spell with a much needed 2-0 win over Celta Vigo courtesy goals from Isco and Gareth Bale.
