Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has reacted to claims that his team are under pressure to deliver the Premier League title this season.

The Merseyside outfit have not won the domestic league in the last 29 years and they seem to have the best of opportunity to break the deadlock this season as they are just one point behind the league leaders Man City.

Virgil Van Dijk in his reaction to claims that his team is under pressure stated that he likes to play under pressure, stressing that there is no big club that isn’t under pressure to deliver good results, noting that he has got players to be proud of to handle the pressure because of their quality.

However, the former Southampton defender said his attention will now shift to the Champions League encounter against Bayern Munich later in the week, having missed the first leg which ended in a goalless draw because he was suspended.

He admitted that the Bundesliga outfit are a great side with fantastic players but noted that his side have the ambition of moving ahead to the next round despite having respect for them.

Liverpool played a 0-0 draw in the first leg and will no doubt need a convincing win to be able to scale through.
