Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas is certain that the Gunners are much weaker under new manager Unai Emery in comparison to the previous regime under Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman spent 22 years in North London before deciding to step down last summer with one year left on his then Arsenal contract.

Arsene Wenger won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cup titles as the Arsenal manager.

He was replaced by Spanish tactician Unai Emery who signed a three-year contract with the Gunners.

Unai Emery built his reputation at Spanish La Liga club Sevilla after he led the Andalusian outfit to three successive Europa League titles.

Charlie Nicholas slammed the current Arsenal setup including Unai Emery for their recent form, especially on the defensive front.

The former Arsenal striker told Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday that the Gunners have not improved defensively under Unai Emery.

Ahead of the Manchester United game, Charlie Nicholas revealed that Arsenal will be out of the race for a top-four finish in the Premier League if they lose to the Red Devils.

Manchester United have won nine games in a row away from home and that record will be put to test when they face hosts Arsenal.

The Red Devils had earlier beaten Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium in their FA Cup fourth-round clash as part of the aforementioned away winning run.
